When we’re on vacation, it's always great to stay with friends, or to use AirBnb—but sometimes there’s a restful feeling that only comes with an amazing hotel experience. Whether for just one night or for one week, it can make your trip that much more memorable. We recently journeyed out to beautiful Berlin, Germany and explored some of the best hotels the city has to offer.
Each with unique and memorable style, we’ve put together our favorite hotels in Berlin that are worth a stay during your next trip.
Gorki Apartments is a design haven, made to help you feel like you’re at home (or, at least, at the home you wish you had). From the minute you enter the front door, you are greeted with a beautiful garden and a pervasive, welcoming ambiance. With plenty of natural light, spacious rooms and gracious views, this boutique hotel caters to what you need. Each of the 34 uniquely-named and individually-fashioned apartments was put together with great attention to detail, creating an elegant and conscious design that exudes both a sentiment of luxury and of rustic authenticity.
Gorki has collaborated with different brands such as Dr. Bronner (one of our personal favorites) to provide organic goodness to treat your body.
Gorki is the ideal location for the creatives wishing to travel and stay in a “hotel” while still feeling that their experience is unique. Located in the Mitte region, one of the most central and creative neighborhoods of Berlin, Gorki Apartments is surrounded by beautiful brunch spots, cafés, galleries, and small, independent shops.
The moment you arrive at Das Stue, you’ll have to remember to breathe. The hotel is located in Berlin’s original Royal Danish Embassy (circa the 1930s); and it retains elements of its rich history (“Das Stue” is Danish for living room). With sentiments of urban sophistication, it is a hidden gem, located next to Tiergarten Park and the Berlin Zoo, both of which are visible from the windows in your room.
Not only is this 5 star hotel spacious, it is absolutely mesmerizing. With a one-of-a-kind design, each of the 78 rooms has a minimalist layout, rendered with flawless execution. Das Stue exudes elegance and innovation—from its high ceilings, to the sliding mirrors, up to installing a personalized Apple desktop for working purposes that also doubles as your television.
This hotel is ideal for business gurus and art lovers, as each floor has a themed common room with a tailored library, including books that range from feminist artists to the photography of Helmut Newton. In true modern style, Das Stue also maintains a 24-hour gym, indoor pool, glass sauna and bikes that can be rented. An added plus to this location is the food, led by a Michelin-starred Catalan chef, in order to grace Berlin with exquisite cuisine.
The Adina Apartment Hotel incorporates a number of locations, but the one which neighbors the infamous Hackescher Markt is divine. This establishment is on the bigger side, boasting 145 rooms— but with its clean, monochrome design and beautiful balcony views, it is individualized enough to make you feel like you could stay forever. The apartments host rooms so spacious, you'll seriously consider spending the day inside, despite being surrounded by some of the best that Berlin has to offer.
Walking distance to the market as well as the Berlin River and a nearby park, you can explore and then feel free to return to enjoy the fantastic health and fitness center that Adina provides. This hotel is fantastic for those staying with friends or family, as it is both comfortable and accommodating.
Hotel Amano possesses only three stars, but it’s quite hard to believe it doesn't have more. Part of the Amano group, this hotel specializes in providing a first-class living experience at a lower price point, allowing for almost anyone to enjoy what the space has to offer. The public areas are inviting, and one of the highlights is the exquisite rooftop bar that is not only a treat for guests, but a mainstay for locals interested in beautiful rooftop views, specialized cocktails, and the chance to meet new people.
The views from the room allow an unobstructed glimpse right into Berlin’s city center; and the courtyard garden gives a sense of escape in the middle of all of the bustle. Amano is perfect for the trendsetters who enjoy being in the spotlight or making new friends; and it is most well-suited to those who want to mingle during their time in the city and take advantage of all it has to offer.
