Coming from Minnesota, USA, I know cold. Not just your average it’s snowing cold, I’m talking your below 20 have to warm up your car for 10 minutes before you drive cold. So when locals here told me that northern Spain is the coldest place they’ve ever been I just laughed. The coldest it gets here is maybe 15 degrees. They don’t know my struggles.
I love autumn and winter fashion so I’m always excited when this time of year rolls around. Who doesn’t like wearing boots, scarves, and oversized sweaters? Also, fashion here in Spain is huge. Everyday I see women looking like they just got out of the hairdresser and effortlessly walking down the cobblestone streets in high heels. I need to step up my game. This season, style is all about ponchos, black statement pieces and trench coats.
I’ve put together a few looks that are easy, classy, and will help you achieve your “Penelope Cruz fabulous” status.
Blanket scarf, dark red pants, cream colored shirt, Converse
Blanket scarves are huge this season and I have a confession. Sometimes I use my scarf as a blanket for my siesta after my Monday class...You probably do it too so don’t laugh.
White tee, red plaid flannel, black cardigan, black pants, black booties
I dig the “rocker chic” look and I think that pretty much everyone can pull it off. Red flannel with black boots scream fall and it gets you in the mood for throwing a bunch of leaves in the air while you walk to get your cafe con leche even if you wish it was a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.
Green pants, comfy sweater, brown boots
I love huge sweaters and pairing them with skinnies, boots, and a messy updo is perfect for cool weather.
Poncho, white long sleeve, black pant, black booties
I have this thing for black don’t judge me. This last look includes a poncho from Sfera, white long sleeve shirt and jeans from Zara, and the booties are the same booties from one of the previous looks.
White t-shirt from Columbia Sportswear, denim shirt from H&M, beige blazer Zara, scarf (sorry guys I don't remember this one but it's definitely not the high end one..but if you can afford that kudos to you!) jeans Bershka, and last but not least shoes Converse.
