Why Spain Is The Best Country For Digital Nomads and Remote Workers

For all of the digital nomads, remote workers or frequent travelers out there, a common question that comes up is… where are the best places to work and live?

The world is a big place and there are so many amazing locations to explore but here are 5 reasons why Spain might just be one of the best countries for digital nomads, remote workers and creatives to live.

Low Cost Of Living

Alright, while Spain might not be Bali or Thailand, it might be one of the best countries in Europe with a low cost of living. If you think smart and choose wisely, you’ll be able to live in Spain for a long amount of time without running through your savings. It’s possible to live like royalty for less than $600 a month in certain cities in the country (especially in the south) and you’ll be able to invest the extra dollars you have into your business.

Everything from fine dining to a night out on the town won’t have you breaking the bank but you’ll be able to enjoy the best that life has to offer

Amazing Weather

Let’s be honest… Spain has some pretty amazing weather all year round. If you’re looking to live in the south or on one of the islands, you’ll be in heaven. It’s perfect if you’d like to have a home beachside but even if you live in the city, you’ll be able to take weekend or week-long trips to amazing locations that will have you wondering what took you so long to make the move.

If you are looking to make a home in the country only for part of the year, we’d recommend September to November to avoid the tourist rush and still take advantage of the weather. If you’re looking to move during springtime, April to June is a perfect window to head over!

Embracing Slow Living

Spaniards have some of the highest life expectancies in the world, can you guess why? Most likely, it’s because life in Spain is all about living slowly and making the most of every moment. It’s part of the reason why the siesta is so popular and everyone goes with a no pasa nada attitude.

You are a digital nomad and remote worker because you want to make the most of life, right? Well… you’re in the right place. You’ll be able to have enough time in the day to work hard as well as explore and appreciate the fact that you’re living in this beautiful country.

Speaking of…

Constant Inspiration

Spain is filled with constant inspiration. Whether you’re walking down the street in your town or taking a short trip somewhere close by, you’ll be endlessly in awe with how beautiful the country is. Between the landscapes, gorgeous people or amazing interiors, you’ll be able to go for a quick walk and get inspired for your next business idea or client work.  Whether you love the mountains or the ocean, Spain has something for everyone.

Not to mention, Spain is a great home base for those photographers or bloggers because you’ll always have great content for your latest Instagram photo or blog post.

Community

Last but not least, community is essential in Spain. Startups and small businesses are really leading the way and more and more each day you can find co-working and co-living spaces like Sun and Co in Javea all throughout the country. Not only that but you can find endless online communities of self-starters on the Internet to find various communities in the country.

The blogging and nomad communities are quite tight knit so who knows, you might even find a future business partner while you’re here!
