There is something beautiful when you see a certain kind of person, you know, the ones that walk around exuding confidence and positive energy. They don’t have to be the most stunning in the room but they way that they present themselves has their light is shining extra bright. They are unapologetic in their actions and comfortable in their own skin.
Guess what? That can be you.
You see, people like that don’t have everything in the world but what they do have is a strong sense of self which is noticeable from a mile away. They know and love who they are and it shows. Here are four ways to become one of those people and start living your life unapologetically and filled with joy.
Don’t Apologize For Who You Are and How You Feel
First things first, it’s time that we stop apologizing when we don’t truly mean it. More often than not, we find ourselves apologizing out of habit. You are a complex, intense, real human being that has a slew of emotions that deserve to be let out when necessary. We often dim ourselves down to be accepted by others, which leads to negative consequences down the road like repression and resentment towards others and ourselves for not being true to who we really are.
This year, I urge you to take the steps that you need to come closer to loving who you are with all of the different facets that come with it. Don’t hold back with your authenticity and don’t be afraid to tell others how you truly feel. Hiding your emotions won’t benefit anyone at the end of the day but when you say how you truly feel, it might just lead to something beautiful.
Learn How To Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin
Odds are, you’re constantly setting goals to be skinnier, flawless, more toned… whatever it might be. Here’s the thing, our team loves setting goals to become better versions of ourselves, really... we love it BUT there’s a catch. In the same way that there is importance in trying to better ourselves, it’s just as necessary to remember how far you’ve come on your journey.
Have love handles? Great, it means that you have enough food on the table to keep you well fed.
Just starting your natural hair journey? Be patient, it takes time, so be proud that you decided to make the big change.
Trying to slim down? Well, thick thighs save lives and also allow us to walk for miles and not get tired.
We are all beautiful and there is a radiance that many exude when they feel comfortable in their own skin. So, take a few moments and write down 15 things that you love about yourself… both inside and out. Once you have it written down, put it somewhere you’ll always see it and remind yourself just how great you are.

Living unapologetically also means treating yourself and not feeling guilty about it. Let this year be the year of self-care and that might mean saying “no” to more things but at the end of the day, protecting your peace comes above all.
