Seek Simplicity: How To Lead a Balanced Life

Life can be overwhelming. With endless dreams, goals and aspirations, it's easy to feel like things are getting away from you... but it doesn't have to be that way. Despite popular belief, living a balanced life is something that is much easier to attain than one would think.

Whether you're an avid traveler, expat, entrepreneur or just someone who is trying to live their best life, simplicity is something that should be longed for. When you take the time to slow down and make the most of each moment, balance enters into the picture and everything comes with a bit more ease. Here are four tips on how to lead a more balanced life, each and every day.

BE PRESENT

We live in an age where technology rules everything. People spend their days glued to social media, forgetting to live in the moment. Although it’s something that we’re all guilty of from time to time, try disconnecting. Spend time with your friends having meaningful conversations, exploring new places and getting to truly know the people in your life. When we’re present, it brings forward an overwhelming sense of simplicity, allowing us to appreciate the beauty that life has to offer us.

REALIZE THAT TIME IS EVERYTHING

The concept of time is something that we’re always conscious of but it often slips away from most of us. The days go by slowly but when you stop and take a moment, you realize that months have passed before your very eyes. For many of us, especially while living abroad, time is something that is always on our minds. Unfortunately, some of our friendships have a time limit, as each year, people drift in and out of the country while others choose to stay long term. When making the most of your days, realize the importance of time and take a few extra moments to slow down and create beautiful memories while you can.

SEEK SIMPLICITY

Quite often, decisions we have to make are not as complex as we might think. Whether it’s through our sense of style or the choices we make daily, life is much easier to navigate when we focus on simplicity. This is one of the reasons why we’re drawn to the design of The Fifth Watches, because they easily create a convergence of simple yet stunning design that draws you in at first glance. When focusing on the simple things in life, you’re able to appreciate the beauty in the small moments and practice gratefulness in an authentic way.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE

Life is too short to fill your days with things that don’t bring you joy. One of the most gratifying feelings is spending time with others, doing things that truly make you happy. Make an effort to find people who share similar interests as you and don’t be afraid to say no to things you don’t want to do. We all have to live our truths and find what brings us joy. Whether your perfect day includes exploring a new neighborhood, escaping to the beach or having a meaningful conversation over a warm cup of coffee, be sure to do the things that make you happy.
