On November 5th, around 150 creatives, entrepreneurs, travelers and influencers came together to do what we do best: share, learn and grow. THRIVE was an event unlike any other in that it brought together like-minded individuals from all over the world to Madrid for a day of workshops, panels, learning and non-stop networking. On Saturday, LMDES welcomed people from the United States, Italy, France, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Portugal, Israel, Ireland, the UK, and from every corner of Spain to The Shed CoWorking, a co-working space in the heart of Barrio Salamanca.
THRIVE came about because we saw a need in the Spanish expat community to provide a space where experts and novices alike could meet, exchange ideas, and be inspired. The goal of THRIVE was to provide the platform and the space so that meaningful relationships could begin to form. Needless to say, it was a very rich, fulfilling and successful experience.
Many people felt as if their dreams were too big, or unrealistic, that is, until that were able to meet someone with the same ardor and passion already manifesting their goals.
Others assumed that they were "the only one" with this level of creative drive and hustle, until they stepped into a room and realized that they truly had found their tribe.
Saturday was magical. Strangers became friends. Students became teachers, and teachers became students.
There was a tangible buzz in the air that day because you could see and feel the inspiration and hope sprouting all around you.
THRIVE has been in the making for a long time, and this event wouldn't have been possible without of course, the help of our loyal supporters. Thank you for believing in us, but more importantly: thank you for believing in yourselves and investing in your dreams and aspirations.
We are endlessly grateful to all of our amazing speakers who came in from Italy, the UK, the US and many different parts of Spain. All of their sessions were filled with meaningful knowledge and experience allowing for others to learn, engage and leave feeling empowered to go off on their own with the information they learned. This event would not have been possible without their contributions!
We'd also like to thank, Sabina Alcaraz, Pueblo Español and Joy Voelker for their contributions to THRIVE conference. Pueblo Español is in the works of organizing a sponsored day for all THRIVE attendees where they will be able to interact with local Spaniards, enhance their Spanish skills and also enjoy cultural activities throughout the day. Joy has offered 20% off to all attendees for her wellness sessions that uses strength building, dynamic stretching and breathing exercises to focus on the improvement of both physical and mental wellbeing.
To all the guests coming from out of town, your stay was made that much better through our collaboration with H10 Hotels! Specifically: H10 Villa de la Reina, H10 Puerta de Alcala, H10 Tribeca. We've worked with these hotels before, and were certain that we wanted nothing but the best for the attendees.
We'd also like to thank the hard-working team at The Shed CoWorking for opening their beautiful space to us, again, all of the speakers and panelists who came to share their craft, Anna Fuchs, our talented photographer, Erik T. Butts, Emmy award-winning videographer, and Nikki Ndukwe for being a boss and handling of all the social media and live coverage of the event.
The day didn't stop there, however. We continued to foster those relationships made at the conference during the networking cocktail post-event at Mitte Restaurante in Chueca. Thank you also to the staff at Mitte for being so welcoming and attentive. In short, we came, we danced, and we slayed.
We understand that many people, for extenuating circumstances, would not attend the THRIVE conference, and we're working on a way to bring THRIVE to you. Stay tuned, and if you haven't already, sign up for our newsletter below as per usual, we're thinking of a master plan with you, our readers, in mind.
Also, make sure to check out the #THRIVEwithLMDES hashtag to stay connected and get a behind the scenes view from the attendees.
This is only the beginning. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
